Barcelona Underwater Camera Museum (BUCaM) is a project conceived by its founder, Andrés Clarós, Otorhinolaryngologist from Barcelona, passionate about the sea and underwater photography, who considers himself to have been a great fan of Jacques Yves Cousteau’s sea documentaries during his childhood and teenage years.

BUCaM was created in December 2007 with the acquisition of its first UW camera, a Calypsophot. Since then, the museum has not stopped growing, amassing a significant collection on a piece-by-piece basis and entire collections from all over the world.
In the last few years private donations have multiplied. Currently we have more than 1000 cameras and thousands of accessories such as replacement pieces, tools, photography books, instruction manuals, publicity, many of them which belonged to the great world underwater photographers.
